'Are we gay Scrooge?'
Meet Adam and Steve. A perfect gay couple. They love each other, love their new house and love voting for Reform UK. While painting and decorating their just-bought paradise, they notice something's off. Loud noises, screams and oat milk cartons popping up. Moving through parrot paintings, Farage-themed Ouija Boards and protest slogans they realise they're not alone.
Something has been woken up and is ready to spread its woke agenda.
Our Ghost Drinks Matcha is a dark comedy that handles the themes of performative politics, codependency and comfortability within marginalized communities.
This play is inspired by the earlier this year released polls that Reform UK is the most-supported party by gay and bisexual men. Within the play we are given a look within two of those gay men and what drives them to their political decisions. Facing their woke ghost they will have to face the ghosts of their past, forced to question their own beliefs and each other's motivations. Are they staying on their path or changing course?
